Thermal cameras use a sensor array to capture infrared energy (heat), however it should be noted that not all thermal cameras can produce temperature measurements. To accurately measure temperatures, the hardware requires a radiometrically calibrated camera. We aim for accuracy, seeking products that can achieve accuracies within ±0.3°C (0.5°F) at the recommended ambient temperature of 30°C to 45°C (86°F to 113°F).
